Event Details

SORRY, WE ARE FULL.

Congratulations on your interest in becoming a Facilitator of the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium. The entire process of becoming a Facilitator is a rich, focused, challenging and, hopefully, deeply rewarding journey and learning experience. We heartily invite you to jump in and sign on for the next training.

Below are some of the specific aspects of the training program that you may want to know about as you consider becoming a Facilitator.

Preparation Period

The Preparation Period begins as soon as you register for the Training, and immerses you in some of the information and concepts that form the heart of the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. During this time, you will read some of the materials that inspired the Symposium, do some research and investigation, and re-examine your own Daily Practices—among other activities.

Your registration, and your Preparation Period, can begin whenever you are ready, as long as there is enough time remaining to complete the assignments before the first residential training. Given that people prepare and read at different speeds, the trainees so far have devoted very different amounts of time to preparing themselves.

Basic Training

The Basic Training is designed for those who are eager to learn the basic elements of putting on a Symposium in a shorter format so that they can immediately go out and bring Symposiums into existence in their communities. The Basic Training is followed by a period of learning additional practical information and skills under the guidance of a mentor who is a trained facilitator, or with a team of people in a local community group.

The Basic Training Session is a very full residential weekend. Seattle/Federal Way Training will be held at the Dumas Bay Retreat Center, 3200 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way, (near Seattle) Washington 98023 USA.  Questions specific to the Dumas Bay Retreat Center and persons with special dietary needs should contact venue manager Judy Ferguson directly (253) 835-2000 or visit http://www.cityoffederalway.com/Page.aspx?page=535

Guests are able to experience the tranquility and natural beauty of Puget Sound overlooking the Olympic Mountains while being close to major metropolitan areas. The Centre is a short drive from both Seattle and Tacoma, and is less than 25 miles from SeaTac airport.

The training will start Friday evening, February 19, 2010 at 5:00 PM, and ends Sunday, February 21 afternoon at 4:00 PM.

Cost

The total cost of the training is $325.00 and includes a Full Tuition including a Training Notebook, nicely printed Symposium Manual & DVDs, all meals and snacks and private room lodging.

Scholarships on a sliding-scale basis are available upon request for individuals who need financial assistance.  Please email requests for scholarship applications to Linda Secord.
